How many TVs do you have in your house?
I'm proud to say that we have only one (10-year-old) TV in our house. Dave says that our bedrooms -- ours or the boys -- will never have TVs. We'll see, I guess.
What was the most embarrassing hobby you've ever had?
Submitted by Billie Fable.
My God, I played the French horn throughout middle and high school. Does it get any worse than that?
What's your favorite flavor of ice cream?
No doubt: chocolate and peanut butter chunk. LOVE. IT. Dave's is mint chocolate chip. I think the boys are too young to have refined their ice cream preferences.
How well does your name Google? Who are you up against? (Celebrities, etc.)
Submitted by Matt Blank.
There is another Jennifer Arterburn who was a newscaster out west (LA? Vegas? I can't remember) and is now an attorney with a large firm in DC. My name comes up with the work I did with the group of physician researchers I worked with in San Antonio.
What is your home decorating style, and how has it changed over time? Do you have plans to redecorate?
Submitted by enSue.
I love this question. I was very much a 'traditionalist' for the longest time. My mother and her mother both collect and decorate with antiques and some primitive pieces, and I was influenced by them for the longest time. However, since moving into a mid-century home (built in 1952) learning more about design, I'm becoming a mid-century modernist. I don't, sadly, have any of the iconic pieces from that time, but I hope to have a home full of them one day.
Who's going to be in the Final Four?
As of today, I've two for two. My final four is OSU, UCLA, Oregon, and UNC. But, truth be told, I'd love to se UNC get beat by G'town tomorrow.
I guess we'll just have to see.
What's your favorite blend or brand of coffee or tea?
The Belvi Coffee Exchange in Bellevue, WA has, honestly, the most amazing coffee. Ever. Seriously, there's nothing like it. I can't go back to Starbucks after having Belvi.
And, to boot, the owner of Belvi, has sued Starbucks for unfair blah-blah-blah practices. She claims that Starbucks threatened property owners from renting to her and made it difficult for her to establish her business. I happen to think that she's telling the truth.
Who was your first celebrity crush?

Definitely, definitely Shawn Cassidy. In second grade, I used to kiss his album cover. Over and over again. And over again.
What are your superstitions?
Submitted by lazywong.
Oh my, I have a few!
First, I have to lift my feet whenever I drive over railroad tracks.
I have to swipe my hand on the ceiling of my car whenever I drive under a yellow light.
I hold my breath whenever I drive over a body of water.
I also am plagued by the "bread-and-butter" superstition. If I'm walking down the street with someone, and we happen to walk around opposite sides of a pole or sign, well, then I have to punch that person in arm, make the criss-cross sign on his/her arm, and say 'bread and butter."
I have absolutely no idea where this started or what it means. I just know that I'm a complete and utter slave to it.
And this is only the beginning of my weirdness!
What's your favorite Thanksgiving dish?
Submitted by Brennan.
My grandmother Harriett's scalloped oysters (it's a southern thing). It took me years before I would even try the dish. But, then, once I did, whoa. I was hooked. And now everytime I smell them cooking, it takes me back to her kitchen. And it makes me happy.
